The Perinatal Ultrasonographer is responsible for performing obstetrical ultrasound procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. This position works under limited supervision, independently performing ultrasonographic procedures. Procedures performed require independent judgement, initiative, and ingenuity. External contacts include patients and family members. Internal contacts include other sonographers, nurses, genetic counselor, grief counselor, and perinatologists.
Previous experience as a High Risk OB Ultrasonographer, or Nuchal Transluscency (NT) certification in lieu of experience
Satisfactory completion of formal ultrasound technology training
Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
Nuchal Transluscency (NT) certification through the NTQR (Nuchal Translucency Quality Review), or in the process of obtaining within a year
