Position Summary:
To function as logistical support for the operating room in regard to instruments and sterilization of surgical instrumentation. To effect turn over and support operating room staff during these times.
Job Duties:
Assemble and sterilize instruments before and after surgical cases. Decontaminate instruments in a safe and effective manner to minimize exposure risks to patients and employees. Conduct biological sterilizer tests and record results in accordance to policy and current industry standards. The employee must maximize the resources of the hospital and conduct themselves in a manner that will not be destructive to the public perception of this facility.

Education / Licensure/ Certifications:
National certification with International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) or The Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)within 6 months of hire, required.

4-5 years hospital sterile supply preferred
