The Labor and Delivery RN provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. The tasks and responsibilities include:
The Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) will perform care under the direction of the unit Nursing Leadership Team and the Director.
The Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of HCA.
The L&D RN performs maternal assessments and provides appropriate interventions for patients who range in age from menses to menopause.
The L&D Nurse performs fetal assessments and provides appropriate interventions.
The Labor and Delivery RN uses appropriate interventions for OB pain management. The L&D RN performs and monitors OB anesthesia/analgesia and provides appropriate interventions.
EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:
Diploma or Associates Degree from a professional nursing program (required)
BSN or current enrollment in a BSN program at an accredited school of Nursing (preferred)
Current Registered Nurse License in this state
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider (required)
ACLS, PALS, and NRP certification (preferred)
At least 1 year of nursing experience
2 years of Labor & Delivery experience (preferred)
