POSITION SUMMARY

The Employee Health and Safety Manager coordinates and implements the comprehensive Employee Health & Safety program, which is designed to promote employee wellness, maintain productivity, decrease absenteeism and promote cost containment. Develops, reviews and revises policies, procedures and practices for the Employee Health Program and South Austin Medical Center.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for all aspects of Injury Coordination/Case Management including but not limited to:

*

Effectively completes all requirements of the employee health & safety premium credit program
*

Chairs the Employee Safety and Security Committee
*

Authorizes, reviews and completes all injury reports and obtains confirmation number; facilitates and takes appropriate action on all injuries and near misses as presented through the Incident Investigation Review Board
*

Maintains appropriate database & reports
*

Places employees in restricted duty assignments as appropriate
*

Coordinates all appointments for follow up care; attends appointments with injured employees as needed

Coordinates and works collaboratively with St. Davids OHS clinic
*

Provides counseling/support regarding injuries to appropriate parties; reviews and submits injuries to the appropriate committees

*

Maintains all logs/reports and communicates as required

*

OHSA log
*

Needle stick/BFE logs
*

Safety/injury reports, monthly
*

Reviews and reports as necessary the corporate monthly and quarterly reports
*

House Supervisor Work Status report, weekly,
*

Joint Commission Standards
*

Employee Health statistics and trending to Infection Prevention and Environment of Care

*

Works collaboratively with all departments and employee health & safety related programs


*

Manages and coordinates programs

*

Respiratory Mask Fit
*

Seasonal Flu
*

Immunization Program
*

TB exposure follow up and annual testing per protocol

*

Maintains employee health files

EDUCATION

Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
