St. David s South Austin Medical Center is part of St. David s HealthCare, one of the largest health systems in Texas, which was recognized with a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in 2014. St. David's South Austin Medical Center is an acute care facility with 316 beds, offering a range of complex specialties and sub-specialties, including a nationally accredited oncology program with the area s only adult bone marrow transplant program; a trauma program that includes all of the capabilities and programmatic elements of a Level II trauma center to treat the most severely injured and critical patients; a comprehensive cardiac program; full-service maternity and newborn care with Level I and II nurseries; and two full-service emergency centers in the communities of Bee Cave and Bastrop.
Under the supervision of the pharmacy operational manager and the direction of the pharmacists, assists in the total quality management of the distributive functions of the department by performing all the duties of a Tech I and Tech II, monitoring quality assurance for all pharmacy areas, overseeing training of new technicians, assisting with scheduling of pharmacy technicians. Provide leadership and direct supervision to Tech I and Tech II s by demonstrating positive guest relations, effective communication skills, excellent work ethics, and superior leadership skills.
Required: High School diploma or G.E.D. Successful completion of all Pharmacy Tech I and Pharmacy Tech II requirements. Adherence to all components of technician competencies as outlined in the policy and procedure manual. Minimum of one year experience in the St. David s Medical Center pharmacy system.
Preferred: Three or more years as a hospital pharmacy technician with emphasis on sterile product preparation, computer order entry, review of physician's orders, and direct interaction with nursing staff. Experience in leadership and direct supervision of pharmacy technicians. Successful completion of a seminar or workshop focusing on leadership &/or communication skills.
Required: Registered with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. ACPE Certification in Sterile Product Preparation.
Preferred: Completion of a certified technician training program.
