Job Description:

JOB OVERVIEW
The Research Assistant will work on small projects or segments of projects with limited scope and complexity and will have opportunities to learn about uveitis, clinical trial methodology, and gain experience with data analysis, study proposals and, survey instruments. The main focus will be exposing the Research Assistant to clinical research in ophthalmology and getting hands on experience in this area by participating in ongoing projects. Travel to overseas research sites is a possibility.

PROCTOR FOUNDATION
The F.I. Proctor Foundation is an organized research unit whose mission is to stamp out world blindness through research. Researchers at the F.I. Proctor Foundation investigate ocular inflammatory diseases which can cause blindness and chronic illness. Types of research projects include epidemiological studies and clinical trials that involve domestic and international collaboration.

Required Qualifications: Bacheloru0027s degree in science, mathematics or related area and / or equivalent experience / training
Ability to read and comprehend complex materials
Excellent writing and oral communication skills (clarity, sentence / paragraph construction and grammar, et cetera)
Attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications: Human Subjects, and Animal Care and Use: Academic training in the biological or social sciences, humanities or bioethics
Demonstrated ability and desire to learn, curiosity
Familiarity with internet searching
Problem solving skills; multi-task, work with frequent interruptions, effective listener
Proficiency with office equipment
Knowledge of standard office software
Basic knowledge of relevant federal, state, organizational and system policies
