POSITION SUMMARY (INCLUDES, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO):
The Registered Nurse as an Emergency Room Nurse performs the functions of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for patients. Meets Standards of Care and Standards of Practice. Supervises assigned personnel. Promotes collaboration with physicians and personnel of other departments. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients served. Demonstrates knowledge of principles of growth and development over life span and possesses ability to assess patient requirements relative to his/her age specific needs. Provides care needed as described in department policies and procedure. Completes a competency skills checklist within 3 months of employment.
Graduate of a school of nursing required.
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nevada required.
Minimum two (2) years experience in an emergency department of an acute care facility preferred. Minimum one (1) year critical care experience and/or the successful completion of a recognized critical care course or Orientation to Emergency Nursing Course.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
ACLS, PALS must be obtained within three (3) months of date of hire/transfer.
ENPC once obtained must be maintained after hire/transfer.
Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) once obtained must be maintained after hire/transfer.
