The Administrative Assistant III will provide high level support for the Acting Chief of Surgery, the Medical Director of the Trauma Center and another busy trauma surgeon. This position requires the ability to handle difficult situations and multi-task in a hectic environment. The individual will collaborate with other academic medical centers and work on special projects. Additional duties will include data entry into a Trauma Surgery database.

The Department of Surgery at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG) is a premier Level One Trauma service providing 24/7 trauma coverage to the City u0026 County of San Francisco, with a world renowned reputation for excellence in patient care, research and medical education. This Department is an essential element of the UCSF medical school for students, interns and residents for an educational experience in trauma and critical care provided by the UCSF Department of Surgery at ZSFG. In addition to providing trauma and general surgery services, the division provides cardiothoracic, plastic surgery and burn care to the residents of Northern California.

Required Qualifications: High school graduation and four years of related administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Relevant work experience, including excellent computer skill in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and Adobe Acrobat
Excellent typing and data entry skills
Working knowledge of scientific and medical terminology
Have excellent transcription experience; ability to be transcribing confidential memos, letters of recommendation and medical documentation
Experience with preparation of technical manuscripts, abstracts, protocols, consent forms, reports, applications and CV s
Demonstrated experience making travel arrangements including air, conference, hotel, car reservations and processing expense reimbursements
Demonstrated experience supporting executive including calendaring and scheduling meetings, phone conferences
Demonstrated experience with copy-editing and proof-reading
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and follow through, with good resources finding skills
Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
Ability to manage/prioritize multiple tasks with competing deadlines and work well under pressure
Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality, be courteous, work well and interact with a diverse population; have discretion and good judgment
Demonstrated ability to handle a variety of tasks with a high degree of accuracy (multi-tasking) and ability to set priorities when confronted with competing requests
Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines and last-minute requests efficiently and accurately
Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with wide range of executives/faculty, staff, trainees, campus, and community representatives
Ability to work well under pressure; ability to maintain a service-oriented approach; remain proactive, resourceful, professional and efficient
