We are seeking a Lead Analyst / Manager of Analysis to join the team!  The position supports our North American Consumer Products Division  and is located at our Port Hudson Paper and Pulp Mill in Zachary, LA. Located in the East Baton Rouge Parish, Zachary has historically been viewed as a rural community with a high quality of life, and for 9 years beginning in 2003, the Zachary Community School District has been #1 in Louisiana.  Zachary finished the decade as Louisiana’s fastest growing city.


  

 


You will be a member of a strong financial team. In addition to completing facility cost analysis, product benchmarking analysis, and identification of value creation opportunities.  This role will also provide guidance and coaching to other team members. 
 

The Analysis role creates value by supplying expertise in economic and critical thinking in order to make sound business decisions.  Success here requires the application of financial models, ability to perform valuation analysis, marginal analyses, identification of opportunities, and determining key variables that help to drive the business performance.  The ideal candidate must have the ability to work autonomously or in team settings and possess a strong analytical background.  Our work environment is fast paced with a focus on innovation and change therefore the ideal candidate will need to possess a high degree of creativity and resourcefulness.  This role will also work collaboratively with its peers to identify and capture value across North American Consumer Products.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

 


  • Supports  Mill organization by providing sound financial analysis.

  • Support inherent cost gap analysis and action plan development and execution

  • Promote an environment of effective partnering with operating and business management to maximize value creation and enhance decision making

  • Identify process improvement opportunities

  • Decision support and analysis on investment and cost reduction proposals

  • Provide financial input for annual planning process

  • Participate in internal financial control assessments and on-going monitoring; help identify and drive corrective actions

  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations ensuring account balances are correct and adequately supported

  • Month end closing and reporting 

     

What You Will Need:


  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or Business

  • At least FOUR years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or Strategy roles

  • Demonstrated understanding of key principles of Cost Accounting and Internal Financial Control

  • Clearly understand integrated financial systems, complex accounting systems, database structure (SAP preferred)

  • Strong intellectual curiosity

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven analytical and financial skills including knowledge of economic principles and marginal analysis

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, Cost Accounting and Product Costing Principles

  • Strong customer focus and sense of urgency is required

  • Prior experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel - spreadsheet creation/editing, pivot tables, data analysis/manipulation and formula creation, etc., Access-query and PowerPoint – presentation creation/editing)

 



  • Manager level candidates should also have previous leadership and/or direct supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Manufacturing or Consumer Products experience preferred

  • Coursework that includes Intermediate Accounting and Cost Accounting

  • Inventory and Cost Accounting experience for multiple products

  • Experience with key financial concepts: variance analysis, price/volume mix, product costing and capital investments

  • Proven leadership and talent development skills
