Location: Bloomington, Indiana
As a member of the Auxiliary Accounting division, this position will support our mission by providing compliance, consulting, system support, and training services to the Auxiliary and Recharge centers throughout the University. Teamwork, communication, analytical, and critical thinking skills are essential for success. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Ensures auxiliary units follow Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Provides guidance on accrual accounting methods and practices. Assists the cost accounting division with departmental guidance and review of the rate proposals for recharge centers. Supports the preparation of the university financial statements. Formulates procedures and policy recommendations and directing their subsequent implementation for various auxiliary units. Acts as a liaison between university administration and departments by providing coordination, analysis, clarification, and accounting expertise in the auxiliary reporting area of the university. Maintains and enhances university financial systems and reporting tools related to the auxiliary account. Acts as a resource in the use of university financial systems and reporting applications.
Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting and two years (general) accounting experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to perform independent financial analysis; advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing applications required.Preferred Qualifications Working Conditions / Physical Demands
