The Indiana University Foundation Regional Development team is seeking a highly talented, positive and motivated individual to join our dynamic, donor-centered and collaborative team of development professionals.
Reporting to the Director of Regional Development, the Associate Director works within an established development team and is responsible for a specific national and local territory. Within these assigned geographies, the Associate Director will further the mission of the IU Foundation by identifying, qualifying and cultivating major and planned giving prospects, while also building a pipeline of high-end annual donors for solicitation. Significant travel is required.
The Regional Development team closely collaborates with University-wide development colleagues to successfully align the passions of our donors and prospects with funding needs and opportunities. The successful candidates will be comfortable communicating the goals of Indiana University and soliciting donors for support.
Candidates will be joining the IU Foundation in the midst of an exciting and historic campaign initiative: For All: The Bicentennial Campaign for Indiana University. The Regional Development team will continue to play an integral role in meeting the campaign's unprecedented fundraising goal of $3 billion by 2020, IU's bicentennial anniversary.
Meet or exceed an individual annual goal of 150 contacts (face-to-face visits and phone calls).
Identify, qualify and appropriately cultivate University-wide major gift prospects.
Maintaining meaningful contact with, and soliciting current and prospective members of the Well House Society, IU's centralized unrestricted giving society.
Efficiently manage and track activity in University-wide prospect management system
Work with University development colleagues to assist with their respective development needs and initiatives; and, to further relationships with individual donors.
Coordinate small, strategic events with the goal of informing attendees of campaign goals and opportunities, as appropriate.
Establish positive work relationships with colleagues and constituents across levels at all times.
Bachelor's degree required; master's degree or professional fundraising certification preferred
Minimum 2 years' professional experience in fundraising or highly motivated environment, strongly preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Passion for higher education, philanthropy, and the field of development.
Ability to self-motivate, organize and drive success independently, as will at times be working remotely.
Positive, collaborative and team-centered approach to achieving success
Proven ability to use good reason and sound judgment when making decisions.
Willing and eager to learn, grow and excel within the Regional Development team, and in a development career at Indiana University.
