Have a passion for Audio or Music? Global Development Engineering has an exciting opportunity to join their Design Assurance Engineering Team as a Validation Engineer! The Design Assurance Engineering team supports all new projects coming out of Bose development groups including the CEPE Group (Wireless Speakers, Wireless Headsets, and Audio for Visual products), the Professional Systems Division, and Emerging Business.
The job function entails the coordination of product verification and validation activities with product development teams. The Validation Engineer will act as the principal representative of the Design Assurance Engineering (DAE) group, actively participating on multiple projects. The primary mission/goal is to ensure that products are validated to Bose, customer and industry standards prior to product shipment. This includes the creation and management of early product risk assessments and responsibility for creating and maintaining the validation plan. This position is also responsible for reviewing this plan with the development teams and obtaining their agreement, as well as coordinating of the execution of the validation plan across the Design Assurance Engineering functions. The validation engineer is responsible to define the environmental and mechanical test requirements of the program, and is expected to work with other disciplines within DAE to ensure that their plans are also defined and managed. These disciplines include, but are not limited to EMC, Safety, International Certifications, Reliability, Energy Efficiency and Engineering Compliance. A successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills to insure that global project team members are kept informed of testing status in timely manner. Strong technical skills are required in the analysis of test results, and for understanding the possible impact of changes of a design across all the disciplines within DAE. This position may require developing new test requirements and procedures as new technologies are incorporated into products and as usage profiles expand.
Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering required is desired; Masters preferred.
Experience with testing of Wireless Products (Bluetooth, WiFi), transducers, and Audio Precision is preferred.
Experience with the following software is also preferred: MS Office, MS Project, SharePoint, PTC Integrity.
1-7 years experience with commensurate skills in managing the testing and/or validation of consumer products.
A passion for Audio/Music and or experience in the audio industry is strongly desired.
