The Supply Chain Manager will report directly to the Director, Supply Chain Specialty Hospitals and Distribution. The position will be responsible for, but not limited to, the ordering, receiving, and distribution of inventory items throughout the Bascom Palmer and UHealth specialty clinics. The role of the Supply Chain Manager is to assess, manage, and lead Supply Chain activities from Purchasing to Customer Delivery. The Supply Chain Manager needs to help the organization control expenses and inventory management.

The Supply Chain Manager will report directly to the Director, Supply Chain Specialty Hospitals and Distribution. The position will be responsible for, but not limited to, the ordering, receiving, and distribution of inventory items throughout the Bascom Palmer and UHealth specialty clinics. The role of the Supply Chain Manager is to assess, manage, and lead Supply Chain activities from Purchasing to Customer Delivery. The Supply Chain Manager needs to help the organization control expenses and inventory management.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Hires, schedule, supervises, evaluates, and disciplines Material Management Department Staff for Bascom Palmer and specialty clinics.
  • Coordinates activities involved with procuring, storing, inventorying, returning, and distributing medical supplies.
  • Manages inventory levels in all areas of the building and warehouse location. Manages expiration dates and rotating of supplies. Manages the removal of expired supplies for disposal. Manages par levels and changes to the item master.
  • Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
  • Coordinates with other department managers and administrators to ensure that supply operations meet the needs the departments.
  • Investigates and resolves inventory discrepancies and recommends/implements remedial action to prevent inventory discrepancies.
  • Implements supply chain strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
  • Other tasks as defined.


Other Duties:
  • Manages the annual inventories.
  • Manages the maintenance of the department's vehicles.
  • Assures that all work areas and storage areas are maintained in a safe and proper appearance.
  • Develops and drive KPI's (key performance indicators).
  • Keeps up to date with and implements the latest inventory and supply chain best practices and concepts.
  • Manages the recruiting, training, and developing of supply chain personnel.
  • Manages the closure of our warehouse and reassignment of warehouse personnel.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or qualified by previous experience
  • 2 years' management experience preferred
  • 3-5 years supply chain experience including but not limited to (receiving, inventory control, stocking,)
  • Knowledge of computer inventory management systems and medical products
  • Critical thinking skills
