Truck Driver

Location: Moab, UT

Education: High School diploma or equivalent



The Moab Truck Driver will drive/operate HM-350 articulated haul trucks, sterling haul trucks, and water trucks used for the Moab Uranium Mill Tailings Remedial Action (UMTRA) Project, at the Moab site.   The Moab Truck Driver’s duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Operating articulated trucks for the excavation and conditioning of Residual Radioactive Material in the CA (Contaminated Area).

  • Operating water trucks for dust control, moisture, and conditioning of Residual Radioactive Material in the CA (Contaminated Area).


  • 1–3 years of experience operating articulating haul trucks and water trucks.

  • Valid CDL recommended but not required.

  • Ability to qualify as a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Radiation Worker II and complete Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) worker qualification, and pass a HAZWOPER/respirator user medical exam.

  • Ability to work in different types of personal protective equipment (half-face, full-face respirators, Tyvek, etc.) while performing various tasks/activities (e.g., climbing, walking, stopping, etc.) in different work environments (e.g., cold, heat, etc.).

  • Physically able to perform job tasks, including lifting up to 50 lb alone.

  • Experience in work environments with exposure to all weather conditions and temperature extremes.

  • Motivated and willing to work as part of a team and perform multiple job functions.

  • Ability to read and comply with project direction contained in project-specific plans and procedures.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

  • Must be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends, and night shifts, pending demand.

  • Experience on UMTRA type projects is highly desirable.
