Key member of a patient centric care delivery model for high quality and service within the office setting. Able to proficiently and effectively navigate through multiple information technology platforms and applications to provide and support best practices, value based care, supporting, implementing, and demonstrating the Core Values of ProMedica.
Immediately greets patients and visitors as they make contact with the practice.
Updates or verifies patient demographic information in electronic data bases at every visit.
Answers and/or triages patient telephone calls, records complete and accurate messages and obtains necessary instructions from the provider, office manager, nurses, etc. when appropriate.
Coordinates the scheduling of patient appointments following the appropriate processes and procedures.
Enters billing information accurately and completely, following up with providers when necessary.
Maintains the provider schedule to meet customer service, access, and productivity standards of the office.
Assists clinical staff and/or providers with outgoing phone calls to patients, pharmacies, or other providers as appropriate.
Performs other duties as assigned.
High school diploma
Previous clerical and high volume telephone experience, preferably in a medical office setting is required
Working knowledge of medical terminology, third-party billing and referral procedures is highly desirable
Must demonstrate and promote a strong commitment towards achieving customer/patient satisfaction
Must be able to understand directions (written and verbal), communicate and respond to inquires; requires effective interpersonal skills
Must demonstrate effective computer-entry skills
Must possess strong communication skills
Must be able to demonstrate good judgement in a fast paced environment
Must be able to occasionally lift or carry light equipment and supplies
