As a Renewal Specialist, you will be responsible for acting on behalf of Blackboard as the primary sales interface for renewals. Specifically, you will partner with the cross-functional renewal team on processing renewal contracts and pricing to clients as well as with Account Executives and Customer Success Advocates to ensure account health and proactively engage renewal risks. You will maintain accurate renewal forecast data for the assigned book of business in the CRM and manage a portfolio with the aim of achieving 100% on-time renewal rates. You will also develop and execute strategies to exceed projected renewals targets.
Additionally, you will contribute to and assist in executing the larger Blackboard renewal strategy in alignment with our corporate strategies. You will personally contact assigned customers to discuss the renewal schedule and begin negotiations. You will also process quotes and renewal documents as well as follow the defined escalation path for issues uncovered during the renewal process.
Has light experience in effective account management, customer service, and client renewal process
Is familiar with managing conflict and working with diverse populations
Has strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills and can communicate effectively to a variety of internal and external audiences
Has excellent analytical, problem-solving, and planning skills
Is proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and Salesforce
Can act as an advocate for clients to drive feature enhancements, efficient processes, and general product/service improvement
Can exercise discretion, creative decision-making, and good judgment
Is a strong team player with excellent organization and time management skills
Can adapt to specific client needs and think independently
The ability to support Marketing, Sales, RFP, and other efforts towards successful client acquisition and retention is a plus
Access and previous data management experience is preferred
