Role Summary

Applies a knowledge of TSYS data and processes to assist in the more efficient operation of the General Counsel's office by undertaking a variety of clerical duties. These duties may include some or all of the following types of work: responding to summons, subpoenas, levies, and liens, assisting with inquiries from government agencies, assisting in the litigation process, maintaining and updating files and status reports, monitoring inquiry deadlines, performing statistical analyses and documentary research, assisting in the management of the legal hold process (including collection discovery materials).

Essential Functions

  • Matter Intake - Receive and review incoming matters (electronic and hardcopy), scan hardcopies, create electronic folders, and input matter into SalesForce.
  • Research & Data Collection - Using matter information provided, perform a high level search of TAS (OneSource, MMS, MAS, CaseWorker, eConn/CBOS, Express) and TMSB (OnTrak) platforms for responsive data. For levies, UCC Liens, and Information Subpoenas, extract responsive data and preserve in electronic folders for use to prepare responses. For matters requiring extensive data extractions from mainframe servers (e.g. Grand Jury Subpoenas, FTC TROs/CIDs, and Summonses), coordinate with multiple SMEs to facilitate data collection and preservation for attorney review. Organize and maintain the data set in electronic folders and prepare data set for final responsive production. Continuously update matter status in SalesForce.
  • Response - Using data from research, prepare levy, UCC Lien, and Information Subpoena template responses for review, signature, and mailing. Scan responses to electronic folders and close matters in SalesForce.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 Year Relevant Experience
  • Prior experience in responding to summons, subpoenas, etc. and/or experience with TSYS databases and client support strong preferred.
  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree
  • Major in English or Communications preferred, other majors considered
  • Typically Minimum 2 Years Relevant Exp
  • Prior paralegal experience in a private or corporate law firm
  • Paralegal Certificate from an American Bar Association (ABA) approved paralegal education program
