Job Description JOB SUMMARY:

A Senior Structural Engineer performs structural design of oil and gas production, transmission, and distribution facilities, including new installations as well as upgrades and retrofits to existing terminals, platforms and pipelines.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Projects that the Senior Structural Engineer could include but are not limited to:
o Conceptual engineering for new field or plant developments.
o Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) and/or Detailed Engineering for Greenfield or Brownfield design projects for onshore and/or offshore facilities.
o Design of structural (decks, jackets, skids, modules, modifications, offshore buildings) and/or civil/structural (spread footings, pipe racks, onshore buildings, roadway alignment) systems.
o Interface with Fabricator for construction and installation.
o Review Vendor designed equipment packages.
o Pipeline / Riser system design.
o Engineering studies.
o Hazards Analysis and Risk Identification.
• Assignments will vary depending on the nature of projects received from clients and candidate's applicable work experience, expertise and proficiency.
• Make site visits, both onshore and offshore, to gather existing data/details and survey available space and infrastructure to support facility upgrades, modifications, or remediation.
• Be familiar with total project systems including process, mechanical, structural, civil, instrumentation/control, and electrical components to allow considerations of those aspects into a project or area design.
• Interface with Project Managers, Peers, and Clients, including attending project meetings.
• Assist Project Managers and multidiscipline design team with establishing the methodology for completing a project. Research, learn and implement differing design techniques which may be industry specific.
• Evaluate proposed designs for efficiency of construction, installation, operability, maintainability, use of materials, integrity, and practicality.
• Coordinate design efforts within the discipline, as the engineer in responsible charge, to endure the design meets project requirements.
• Coordinate/interface with other engineering disciplines, designers and drafters to ensure an integrated design that meets the project requirements.
• Coordinate staffing efforts between project manager and discipline to ensure adequate resources are being utilized.
• Develop Structural design basis details and Structural project documentation.
• Perform linear local and global analyses of platform topsides using SACS software. SESAM software experience will also be considered.
• Perform linear analyses of platform modifications, skid, module, and building designs, including installation, using SACS software.
• Develop, review, and implement tools and processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and quality within the discipline. A high level of knowledge of Excel is needed for this task set, as is a working knowledge of MathCAD.
• Prepare (or alter existing as necessary) data sheets and technical specifications for platform cranes, monorails, bridge cranes, specialty items, etc. to meet specific project requirements.
• Perform design verification reviews/checks of drawings and other documents prepared by others, both internal and external to the Company, to ensure correctness of design and engineering data as well as completeness.
• Develop regulatory submittals (e.g. BSEE, USCG, and ABS).
• Provide technical support to procurement efforts including bid package assembly, bid clarification responses, and technical bid evaluations.
• Be organized and diligent in maintaining server-based project files.
• Provide on-site, both onshore and offshore, construction, commissioning, startup and operational assistance.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements Qualifications
• Must have a BS degree or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Requires 10 or more years of experience in engineering design and/or project management of oil and gas and/or industrial facilities.
• Active Professional Engineering license in Louisiana required in Civil and/or Structural Engineering for a minimum of 5 years.
• Familiarity with engineering and design requirements for projects associated with oil and gas production facilities and equipment installations, including regulatory compliance (BSEE, USCG, ABS, DNV) as well as applicable codes and standards (CFR, API, ASCE, IBC).
• Familiarity with total project systems including process, mechanical, structural, civil, instrumentation/control, and electrical components to allow considerations of those aspects into a project or area design.
• Requires experience with developing processes, design tools, technical specifications, drawings, and data sheets associated with oil and gas production facilities.
• Requires experience performing and documenting engineering studies associated with oil and gas production facilities and onshore petrochemical facilities.
• Experience directing the work of designers, drafters and other engineering support staff.
• Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
• Requires the ability to travel to client sites, both onshore and offshore.
• Availability and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Availability and ability to work overtime as needed based on project.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Ability to interact with staff at all levels.
• Work is primarily conducted in a private or semi-private office setting
• May requires some off-site visits to client locations, both onshore and offshore
• Off-site visits may require exposure to plant and/or production areas with severe noise and climate changes
