~ Represent the voice of the customer throughout the corporate planning organization. Proactively develop product strategies that are synergistic with the brand strategy, sales plan and business objectives.
~Product Strategy Development (30%)
~ Develop New Product Concepts and Full Model Changes.
~ Ongoing management of Long Range Product Plan and Lineup Strategy.
~ Develop and manage long range Powertrain and Technology Strategies and Plans.
~Strategic Integration and Communication (30%)
~ Lead the development of Integrated Launch Strategies between Product Planning, Marketing, Sales and Customer Service teams for all launch models.
~ Manage the relationship and communication between brand strategy team and product planning.
~ Strengthen relationships with Hyundai’s US Engineering Team for “North American One-Voice” to HMC.
~Customer Insight and Futuring (25%)
~ Continually study customer and market trends both within automotive and among external markets that shape automotive consumer behavior using syndicated and custom research studies.
~ Provide authoritative voice of the customer for all future planning.
~ Analyze and provide recommendation for ad-hoc product strategy related requests. (10%)
~ Travel to Korea as required to support HMA for design reviews and product presentations. (5%)
~ Makes recommendations and strategic decisions that affect the division and/or entire company.
~ Must be a high school graduate
~ Bachelor’s degree required
~ Master’s degree a plus
~ Six to seven years of OEM experience of which at least three years in a strategic role desired.
~ Two to three years of supervisory experience desired.
~ Excellent analytical skills - use both quantitative and qualitative data to create a broad, dynamic view of the market and synthesize the underlying insights of the data.
~ Adept at identifying key consumer insights and developing them into actionable strategies.
~ Effective knowledge of automotive strategy and market research activities.
~ Excellent oral and written communications skills, with the ability to influence a wide range of management levels, both inside and outside of HMA.
~ Proven track record presenting complex analyses in straightforward, digestible formats to influence executive decision-making.
~ Thorough computer skills, with proficiency in Powerpoint, Excel and MTAB.
~ Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple simultaneous projects.
~ Normal office duties.
~ Must be able to present in front of large audiences.
~ Domestic and International Travel (15%).
