The Georgia-Pacific Consumer Products Group Engineering team is looking for an Electrical Engineer – Machine Controls to join us in our Green Bay, WI location. The selected individual will act as a liaison between the CPG Engineering Group and IT group to facilitate networking with PLCs for data collection. The CPG Engineering team consists of nearly 200 individuals across the United States working with our 15 Tissue Towel and Napkin mills and our 8 Dixie facilities on capital project execution as well as run-ability of current assets. A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
Providing electrical engineering support for capital projects, primarily for the GP Consumer Products tissue mill system
Providing technical support for Georgia-Pacific facilities manufacturing
Developing scopes, estimates, and schedules for the electrical portions of projects
Developing conceptual and detailed engineering and design
Supporting ITOT infrastructure to include designing the network layout to include the sub network
Preparing specifications and bid packages for electrical equipment and installation services
Participating in bid evaluation and selection
Project field engineering, including construction, startup, and commissioning support
Preparing project status reports and related communications
Providing leadership for external engineering resources on some capital projects
Supporting overall project scope, estimate, schedule, and investment proposal development
Supporting project budgeting, spending forecasts, project scheduling, and procurement
Providing technical support to GP facilities including control systems support, PLC programming, machine safety, and Electrical Safe Work Practices expertise
Applying Georgia-Pacific’s Market Based Management (MBM) to drive long term value creation and support GP Manufacturing and Business partners
Applying judgment and critical thinking to accomplish goals, increase efficiency, and stay within project budget
Dealing with multiple issues simultaneously with a sense of urgency
Demonstrating the ability to work in team environments.
What You Will Need: Basic Qualifications:
Four (4) or more years of Electrical Engineering experience
Bachelor’s degree or higher OR four (4) or more years additional experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree
Experience developing machine ethernet or computer networks
Experience in machine control, ISO 13849, and machine networks
Experience with National Electrical Code NEC
Willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time
What Will Put You Ahead? Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with NFPA 70 E
Experience in the paper Industry
Experience programming PLC’s from clean slate to include writing the entire program from start to finish
Experience providing consultation on complex projects as a top-level contributor/Subject Matter Expert
