Job Description:

New England Biolabs is inviting applications to join the expanding NEBNext® commercial team. Using a developing knowledge of customer needs and market trends, the Associate Product Marketing Manager will work with other members of the Marketing team to develop and implement marketing tactics to drive the revenue and brand growth for a range of products within the NEBNext product portfolio.  This is an in-house role based in Ipswich, MA.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Act as the key point of contact for the given range of products, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals set for the products.

  • Working with and under the direction of the Product Portfolio Manager, implement marketing strategies that match customer needs with the specific benefits of the products to create unique and sustainable market positions.

  • Work to develop a strong knowledge of market trends and customer needs for the product range.

  • Learn to identify and propose new product and market opportunities related to the range of products.

  • Working with other members of the Marketing team and as directed by the Product Portfolio Manager, develop and manage the implementation of creative promotional tactics that align themselves with the buying process of the customer, and drive brand awareness and product revenue growth.

  • Support the optimum channel to market and sell the different products in the range.

  • Working with and under the direction of the Product Portfolio Manager, manage aspects of the product life-cycle and ensure appropriate post-launch support.

  • Working with and under the direction of the Product Portfolio Manager, manage product pricing.

Required Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in one of core life science disciplines; molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry etc.

  • Minimum one years’ experience in the life science industry, ideally in a marketing role

  • Basic understanding of core principles of marketing and how to best apply them.

  • Basic understanding of the selling process and how it is used effectively.

  • Good project management skills and the ability to multitask, prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; both written and verbal.

  • Strong analytic and critical thinking skills. 

  • Good computing skills, with specific knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to travel, including overseas, up to 10% of time.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Knowledge and experience in digital marketing strategy and tactics a plus.

  • Some knowledge of the NGS market a plus.

  • Cross-functional experience - R&D and/or Sales/Marketing - in life science industry a plus.
