Job Description:




Create and maintain 3D imagery for assigned categories. Participate in the product creation process as it relates to implementing 3D imagery from product conception to product delivery. Research and make recommendations for expansion and use of 3D imagery in any area from product conception to product delivery. Provide support to the Technical Design team in other various areas of responsibility: technical specifications, pattern making, sample evaluations, etc.




  • Create 3D product imagery with the designated 3D software according to determined criteria and standards.

  • Participate in the product creation process by providing 3D imagery output for design concepts, print artwork reviews, garment prototypes, presentations, marketing, etc.

  • Participate in expanding the use of 3D imagery by investigating and recommending methods of reducing product creation lead time and expense.

  • Participate in establishing processes and communication in utilizing 3D imagery to communicate product specific    details to manufacturing vendors.

  • Work closely with Merchandising, Design and Technical Design to meet 3D project deadlines.

Provide support for the following Technical Design responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain technical specifications for assigned products e.g., BOM, construction, measurements, cutting, packaging, and associated technical images, etc. according to established criteria.

  • Build and maintain patterns from concept prototypes through final fit approval.

  • Work with Merchandising/Design to determine and maintain appropriate fit for assigned products.

  • Complete technical specifications and patterns according to deadlines.

  • Release technical specifications and patterns to appropriate recipients. Ship physical items e.g., prototype garments, styling/construction mock-ups, appropriate recipients.

  • Track and monitor progress of Fit samples, Size Set samples and Pre Production samples in relation to deadlines.

  • Evaluate Fit samples, Size Set samples and Pre Production samples for fit, measurement and construction accuracy  and quality.

  • Provide approval/rejection feedback of Fit samples, Size Set samples and Pre Production samples for fit, measurement and construction accuracy and quality to appropriate recipients.​

  • Provide technical and pattern guidance to appropriate recipients for Fit samples, Size Set samples    and Pre Production samples.​

  • Provide Merchandising/Design with construction/pattern options for cost efficiency.

  • Participate in maintaining consistency of technical design and product creation processes.




  • Computer skills:  

    • ​​Google Apps, Adobe Illustrator, PLM software

    • Pattern design software:  Optitex required, Gerber AccuMark is a plus​

  • Pattern making experience (swimwear pattern making preferred)

  • Garment construction knowledge

  • Garment fit experience

  • Basic pattern grading knowledge

  • Fabrics and trims knowledge

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Good analytical and mathematical skills

  • Acute attention to detail

  • Ability to manage deadlines and changing priorities

  • Dedicated team player




  • A.A. Apparel Design or Apparel Production, or job related equivalent

  • 3-5 years experience in technical design and pattern making, Optitex or Gerber AccuMark preferred

  • 1+ years experience in 3D imagery creation, Optitex required
