Entry Level Wet End Mechanics – Rincon GA We are currently recruiting for Mechanics at the Savannah River Mill located in Rincon, Georgia. The Savannah River Mill offers a unique opportunity to its team members. The mill is located in a beautiful part of the country, is close to the coast in Effingham county with some of the best school systems in the state. The mill has established an excellent relationship with its community and participates in many community events. Rincon is conveniently located near the coast with year-round boating and long stretches of beach. Located a short distance from Savannah, the city is alive any time of year with activities for everyone to indulge. Savannah brims with all kinds of events including architectural tours, music and food festivals, art exhibits, Civil War Re-enactments, and bustling nightlife.
A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
Embracing and following facility safe work policies, practices, and regulations
Maintaining equipment to achieve optimal performance levels using precision maintenance best practices, tools and techniques
Performing preventative and corrective maintenance on industrial drives, pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, valves, gear reducers and other industrial process equipment
Cross-training and assisting in maintenance and operational areas
Utilizing effective interpersonal skills to collaborate with others (peers, coworkers, customers)
Follow both verbal and written instructions to successfully complete assigned tasks
What You Will Need:
High School Diploma or GED
A minimum of six months of mechanical experience: farming, industrial, automotive, vocation schooling and/or military
Willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs
Willing and able to work in high and/or confined spaces
Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment
Willing and able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required
Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling or up to twelve (12) hours a day
Experience using a computer
Willing and able to learn the mill’s CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
What Will Put You Ahead?
Two (2) or more years of mechanical maintenance experience and/or formal training
Rigging certifications or qualifications
Experience performing precision maintenance tasks
Industrial, military or residential electrical experience in basic electrical work
Experience with pulp and paper industry and/or power generation/utilities
Experience with a CMMS
Industrial mechanical diploma or vocational degree
Experience welding (mig, tig and stick) and pipefitting
Working knowledge of preventive, predictive and reliability-based maintenance practices
Working knowledge of lubrication, print reading, rigging, precision measurement, precision alignment and condition monitoring
