HR Business Partners strategically align and collaborate with senior leadership to shape the people strategy. Due to the fast-paced, global nature of our business, successful HRBPs at Cognizant are extremely enthusiastic, flexible, detail oriented and innovative. HRBPs are responsible for all HR responsibilities including, but not limited to: rewards and recognition, performance management, employee engagement, career management, change management, executive coaching, group dynamics, teambuilding, and learning and development. HRBPs interact with all levels of the Cognizant Business Unit and partner with all Human Resources centers of excellent (COE) to support the business.
You will serve as a strategic Human Resources Partner to the Business Unit on a variety of talent management initiatives; exercising a keen understanding of the global business model
You will build and maintain influential relationships within the Business Unit supported including senior leader connects
You will drive the performance management process through the Business Unit. This includes working with leaders and managers to achieve performance normalization. Provide coaching and training to managers and leaders on the process.
Partner with HR Compliance to resolve more complex employee relation oriented issues or gross misconduct situations
Own and execute Business Unit practice level initiatives/projects with minimal oversight
Partner with global HR counterparts to drive account level initiatives or processes
Provide new business development support with respect to HR (i.e. client presentations, RFP submissions, etc.)
Liaison with Compliance and Legal teams on significant HR issues
Partner with HR COEs to resolve issues and enhance support (HRBPs should have fundamental knowledge of how each COE functions and its basic processes)
Job Qualifications / Requirements:
5+years of experience in the field of HRM
Experience leading complex account groups and leaders across various geographical locations is preferred
Extraordinary verbal & written communication skills; very strong presentation & client relationship management skills (client could be internal or external); well versed on Excel and manipulating data for reporting and analytics
Validated project management skills to define & enable processes.
Comfortable working in a dynamic, constantly changing work environment where status quo is always challenged & ambiguity is tolerated
Highly self-motivated & driven, while being comfortable working independently
Team orientation and ability to collaborate with individuals from all backgrounds, across multiple geographies and time zones
Proven understanding of immigration, state and local employment laws
A BA/BS degree in Human Resource Management or a related field, MA/MS in Human Resources is a plus
Ability to travel approximately 10%
