Job Description

The Senior Product Manager will be responsible for managing NEXTracker’s expanding range of tracker product solutions and lead the integration of product management activities across all tracker technology sub-systems, such as mechanical structures, control systems, installation tools and software. They will manage a team of technical sub-system product managers and other product support staff, and work cross-functionally with the sales, marketing, R&D and supply chain organizations. This position will also require customer outreach, development of technical product marketing materials and presenting at industry events.

The  Senior Product Manager  will be based in Fremont, CA. The Senior Product Manager will be responsible for managing NEXTracker’s expanding range of tracker product solutions and lead the integration of product management activities across all tracker technology sub-systems, such as mechanical structures, control systems, installation tools and software.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:


  • Manage new product development priorities

  • Manage integrated roadmap for new product releases

  • Capture evolving customer & market requirements

  • Critical analysis reviewing the value of various product development alternatives

  • Decision making for which new product developments should proceed, definition of scope, and relative priority. Regular review & alignment with executive leadership

  • Evaluate landscape of competitor’s products

  • Define specific product requirements

  • Perform cost vs. value analysis, develop financial models as required

  • Develop data-driven product marketing content

  • Maintain close working relationship with NX Sales team and support key customer engagements as needed

  • Manage sub-system technical product managers and other product support staff

Here is some of what you’ll need (required):                      


  • Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Degree

  • 5 years of product management experience in utility-scale solar systems

  • Experience managing a team

  • Experience with solar power project development, finance, construction and operations

  • Proficiency with energy related financial analysis, ROI, savings calculations, etc.

  • Experience developing presentation materials for internal and external audiences

  • Experience presenting to customers, salespeople and technical staff

  • Orientation towards ownership & decision making throughout product life-cycle

  • Ability to make product related decisions in a timely manner, often based on incomplete information
