Programmer - CNC Department: Manufacturing

 

Position Summary:

Supports Manufacturing operations by developing, editing & updating programming for CNC manufacturing equipment utilizing CAD/CAM programs such as Unigraphics (UG) NX 7.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Develops, edits, and updates CNC programs to support manufacturing operations.


  • Programming technical resource and supports Management, Engineering, Quality and Production personnel.


  • Responsible for proving out new and existing CNC programs certifying them for production use.


  • Provides technical assistance to Production personnel as required and may train operators.


  • Maintains equipment and program proficiency through continuous education and hands on applications.


  • Promote changes supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Participate in Six Sigma, Kaizen and other Lean Manufacturing programs and philosophies.


  • May perform other Engineering functions as assigned. 


 

Experience: 


  • Minimum 3 years’ of experience programming turning or milling equipment within an aerospace manufacturing environment is required.

  • Programming experience in other environments can be considered.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with UG NX applications required


  • Mechanical, Manufacturing Technology, or other technical Bachelor’s degree preferred.


 

 

Skills/Abilities:


  • Must be able to handle multiple assignments and work with minimal supervision.


  • Must interact effectively with internal customers; i.e. all levels of management, engineering and shop personnel.


  • Must take pride in the quality of work and pay strong attention to detail.


  • Computer literacy required.
