We are looking for a dynamic individual as Film & Sheet Market Development / Key Account Manager - Specialty Elastomers for our Americas Polyurethanes organization. This position will preferably be located in Auburn Hills, MI; Derry, NH; or The Woodlands, TX. Home based in also an option.

The Film & Sheet Market Development / Key Account Manager will execute the business strategy by developing tactics to achieve rapid and sustainable sales growth with both new and existing accounts. The incumbent will develop a thorough understanding of the customer(s) products, applications, and markets to position Huntsman Polyurethanes as the preferred supplier. The position requires the incumbent to conduct business travel of up to 50%.

What will be expected from you?
  • With minimal supervision, primary responsibility is to develop and execute annual account plans which support the strategic growth objectives of the business at assigned accounts.
  • Execute approved delivery strategy and provide leadership/management for successful implementation.
  • Coordinate multiple project simultaneously, including commercial arrange such as contracts, partnering, etc.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the "buying process", both from customer and Huntsman standpoint.
  • Develop and implement product pricing strategies at each account to maximize profitability.
  • Develop sales forecasts and budgets per account and update on a monthly basis for S&OP accuracy.
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities at new and existing accounts, using existing project management tool and process.
  • Establish and maintain customer contacts at all levels (engineering, R&D, sales, production, and marketing) to maximize Huntsman Polyurethanes opportunities.
  • Provide direction and leadership to Technical Service Group to determine manpower allocations and expand sales potential.
  • Cooperate with marketing on the development of market strategies.
  • Provide timely and detailed visit reports while managing total quality as perceived by customers.
  • If necessary, participate in related trade or professional associations.
  • Develop and maintain a high degree of product and application knowledge.
  • Manage travel expenses, maintaining costs within budgeted limits.


What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?
  • Position requires a Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical area such as Polymer Science or Plastic Engineering or Polymer Chemistry with 5-10 years of experience in the chemical industry and a minimum of 5 years commercial experience.
  • Must be a 'Hunter' and self-starter with the ability to plan, organize, execute, and follow-up on initiatives driven by business strategy.
  • Experience in the Film and Sheet industry is highly preferable.
  • Position requires strategic thinking, human relations, and negotiation skills along with the ability to influence people.
