The Senior Buyer will report to the Purchasing Manager and is responsible for all aspects related to the purchase of Indirect (MRO) goods and services in support of site requirements. This role involves a high level of proficiency with electronic purchasing systems, negotiating with suppliers, and analyzing total costs to obtain best value. You will protect Honeywell's interests by reviewing and utilizing appropriate contract terms and conditions. Excellent knowledge of local and regional supply requirements, including but not limited to, Import/Export, customs duties and taxes, and transportation & logistics, is essential to enable efficient delivery to the site.

This role relies upon a thorough understanding of and adherence to Honeywell sourcing policies/procedures and Code of Conduct. You willl be committed to implementing process improvements, effectively interact with multiple departments at all levels of internal and external organizations, and relied upon to professionally resolve problems in a fair and ethical manner. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Identify and select qualified suppliers
  • Purchase order placement and supplier follow up
  • Negotiate complex purchasing requirements
  • Ensure delivery requirements are met
  • Assemble and solicit Requests for Quotes (focus on eSourcing activity)
  • Analyze competitive bids and formulate purchase recommendation
  • Control costs and obtain savings by using target pricing, reverse eAuctions, negotiations, and market tests.
  • Consult with supervision and Commodity Leaders to identify cost savings projects/opportunities
  • Calculate cost savings and document in TrackVia
  • Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by Manager
  • Train and mentor new or junior buyers

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelors degree
  • 5 years of procurement experience, to include experience with multi site procurement

WE VALUE
  • Knowledge of Intelligrated business is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated competencies in the sourcing of Indirect (MRO) materials and services
  • Strong experience with supplier negotiations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of software
  • Experience with eProcurement solutions
  • Experience with ORACLE (and SAP a plus) purchasing platforms and others as required
  • Ability to analyze, organize, and report data
  • Self-starter: understand and anticipate what needs to be done and take required action
  • Strong problem solving skills and judgment
  • Professional Certification (CPM, CPIM)
