Job Description:

Join the UW Health Acute Care Rehab Team.

We are seeking a Student Help position to:

  • Provide administrative support specific to inpatient therapy.

  • Assist with rehab clinic projects and initiatives.

  • Assist physical and occupational therapists at University Hospital and the American Family Children’s Hospital.

  • General cleaning and sterilization of patient equipment, rooms, and toys. 

  • Assist in the preparation of presentations and compliance submissions.

  • Maintain inventory and order supplies to support therapy teams within the department.


Minimum - Current student in a post-secondary college or university

Preferred - Field of study related to department 

Work Experience:

Minimum - General customer service/ administrative experience or experience in field of study

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Employee must be able to problem-solve, make decisions, and work independently.

  • Employee is expected to offer excellent customer service by being courteous, positive, and sensitive to customer and patient needs.

  • Employee is expected to communicate effectively by sending, receiving and responding to information ensuring high level of patient satisfaction.

  • Employee is expected to follow UW Health Employee Work Rules and department dress code, sanitation, and safety work standards.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications including understanding of English language.

Physical Requirements:

Light: Ability to life up to 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. 

Work Schedule:

This temporary part time position will have 1-2 shifts scheduled per week. Shifts will be typically 4-hour blocks scheduled Monday - Friday day between the hours of 8:30 am - 12:30 pm or 12:30 pm - 4:30 pm, and Saturday between the hours of 8:30 am -12:30 pm on a rotational basis (1-2 times per month). Hours may vary based on the needs of the department.
