  • Serve as key member of aggressive business development team focused on the acquisition of innovative products and companies that complement Horizon's existing products and leverage its established commercial infrastructure.
  • Support the identification, evaluation and execution of acquisitions and other related business development transactions that enhance the value of Horizon's business.
  • Serve a key role in all aspects of Horizon's financing activities to fund acquisitions and other related transactions, as needed.
  • Establishes and maintains excellent relationships with counterparts in external organizations as well as colleagues within the Company. Responsible for embedding of processes and optimization of collaboration with external partners.
  • Support search and initial review of acquisitions, alliances, collaboration and licensing opportunities. Initializes analysis and evaluation of business opportunities; including key deal drivers, risks and opportunities.
  • Maintains high level of communication regarding business development activities with internal and external stakeholders. Prepares, coordinate and presents the Company's capabilities to possible collaborators.

Qualifications and Skills Required:
  • BA/BS in related area. MBA strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years or greater industry experience with documented success to include previous small company biotech and/or pharmaceutical and/or healthcare experience.
  • Significant knowledge in all aspects of business development, licensing, financing, mergers & acquisitions, legal, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Professional, proactive demeanor.
  • Strong Interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Requires approximately 20-50 % travel, including some overnight and weekend commitments.
