Job Description:

Belimo is a global leader in the development, production and marketing of actuator solutions for controlling heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.  Actuators, control valves and sensors make up the company's core business.


The Product Engineer, Manufacturing is responsible for supporting actuator production and related activities in the Danbury facility.  The Manufacturing Engineer will work within a project-oriented, hands-on, team environment, interfacing closely with the Product Procurement Group and Switzerland Engineers.


The objectives of this position are fully integrated to the objectives of the Company’s Mission and Values. It is the responsibility of all employees to perform their duties in accordance with Company Policy.


The Product Engineer, Manuafacturing  is part of the Engineering Team and reports to the Engineering Manager and bears full responsibility for agreed upon goals and objectives.


  • Responsible for supporting actuator production in Danbury

  • Responsible for assisting Switzerland Engineers with new actuator development & Danbury production

  • Lead and support Q-Cases related to actuator production in Danbury

  • Make proposals for actuator production enhancements and improvements

  • Coordinate the initialization and introduction of new actuator product introductions in Danbury

  • Complete verifications for new actuators and actuator changes

  • Work with incoming inspection to identify non-conforming material and parts

  • Responsible for product quality and quality of locally sourced components.  Support supplier visits

  • Responsible for organizing technical documentation


  • Education: B.S. Mechanical Engineer or Manufacturing Engineering

  • Experience in related fields (5+ years)

  • Mechanical design with strong understanding of engineering fundamentals

  • Good working knowledge of material properties

  • Understanding of manufacturing technologies

  • Experience in 3D CAD

  • Must have organized documentation and exceptional communication skills

  • Knowledge of SAP, PLM (NX) Software

  • Advanced MS Office skills

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and support multiple projects

  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug automation equipment problems.

  • Must have strong project management, organizational, and presentation skills

  • A Self-starter. Good at making decisions.

  • Travel will be required, US and Europe.




  • Electro-Mechanical Design/Electronics Background

  • Knowledge of HVAC applications

  • Knowledge of actuators, motorized mechanisms

  • Knowledge of fluid mechanics

  • Working with International cultures
