Responsibilities:

-Propose improvements to the current purchasing system that will improve vendor relationships and lower the cost of doing business.

-Collaborate with inventory control and sales to develop metrics for gauging inventory level needs and then maintaining those levels
throughout the year.

-Take the lead in creating profitable ways to manage obsolete and slow moving stock to help offset losses.

-Manage the company s day to day purchasing activities and ensure that all purchasing agents are meeting their personal performance standards using the Performance Development Review form.

-Responsible for training buyers and sales on best practices using the inventory control system and setting parameters to accomplish the goal.

-Evaluate suppliers, maintain contracts, negotiate prices, review product quality and delivery performance.

-Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key vendors.

-Identify and source new suppliers and vendors.

-Manage risk relating to quality, cost, delivery and supply of purchases.

-Communicate with regional presidents on goals, vendors, and performance.

Requirements:

College Degree preferred, High School Diploma or equivalent required

3+ years of electrical product knowledge and previous management experience

Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills

Experience with Microsoft Office

Must have excellent communication skills

Strong process orientation and systems-thinking capability

Proven attentiveness to detail coupled with problem analysis and resolution skills

Demonstrated capability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all organizational members

Demonstrated time management and organizational skills, including an ability to plan and manage multiple priorities simultaneously

Ability to travel to other office locations (10% - 15% travel)
