Job Description:


The Senior Director/Insights Lead for the Autoimmune & Rare Diseases (ARD) teams will lead our research and analytics efforts to help the teams with insight generation and business decision support. This person will work closely with the leaders of these businesses and their teams to leverage our core Decision Analytics & Insights (DA&I) capabilities and will require and understanding of both the business and analytics and insights. The ideal candidate is passionate about commercial strategy, analytics and market research and is keen to leverage innovative approaches to help the teams define the strategic direction of our products. They will have a passion for science, have a desire to help patients with rare and underserved diseases, demonstrate creative thinking and be excited to work in a fast-paced environment.



* Lead the ARD Decision Analytics & Insights team supporting the sales and marketing teams on Acthar and other products

* Lead in alignment with Mallinckrodt s Values (Patient Centricity, Integrity, Collaboration and Innovation) and Leadership Framework (Engage & Inspire, Model & Enable High Performance, Foster Trust and Demonstrate Strategic Agility)


* Lead the DA&I team supporting the research and analytics needs of the ARD team. Help the team derive insights from the information and help support decision making as they strive to prepare the product, the market and the company for the launch of the pipeline assets

* Oversee analytics support of commercial assets including standard performance reports and strategic assessments of the business

* Coordinate market research projects and leverage the findings to help drive product strategy

* Help the brand and sales teams with analytical and market research support needed to deliver on their goals

* Work with product teams to develop forecasts, analyze risks and assess tradeoffs in the strategic plan process

* Proactively anticipate, identify, and define strategic opportunities through analytics and insights while aligning priorities with corporate strategy and evolving business needs

* Propose new and innovative ideas to business partners on novel applications of advanced analytics and insights to drive new thinking / critical business decisions

* Serve as thought partner to the business to help them identify and prioritize opportunities for differentiation and driving innovative market preparation

* Be the central point of contact between the functional competencies and senior business leaders

* Plan for the year s anticipated analytical needs based on short-term / long-term strategic priorities, and support allocation of resources to fulfill demand

* Address and coordinate the request and fulfillment of analytics needs through deep understanding of business requirements and priorities

* Enable executives and senior level management to make informed decisions by overseeing the development of financial, forecasting, and other analytical models, presenting information in a succinct and impactful manner that inform actionable business decisions



BA/BS required; Master s or other advanced degree in science, business, data science, statistics, mathematics or similar analytical field is preferred.


Significant experience (10 years) in a commercially oriented role within a pharma/biotech company or a consulting company focused on pharma / life sciences. Expertise in market research, payer / patient / pharmaceutical data, business intelligence, forecasting, marketing, sales, business analytics, strategic planning is required. Experience in marketing and sales in helpful.

* Expertise in common market research techniques and tools including both qualitative methods and quantitative assessments

* Knowledge and experience of secondary data sources (e.g., IMS Xponent, IMS FIA, IQVIA IMS DDD / SRI, Symphony Health retail and non-retail, Premier, DRG, EMR/EHR, Marketscan/Truven, Medicare claims data) and ability to identify additional data sources

* Deep industry expertise in pharmaceutical and life sciences, and significant experience in relevant commercial functions

* Expertise with the Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

* Identification and application of relevant forecasting, statistical and risk based simulation techniques for addressing different problems, and the mathematical and strategic interpretation of the results

* Experience leveraging BI platforms (e.g., Qlik) to develop dashboards to deliver key messages

* Optionally, knowledge of programming for data analysis in an applicable language (e.g. Java, Python, C#, SAS, SPSS, SQL, R) is a plus

* Works in close collaboration with ARD team and key cross-functional stakeholders
