Job Description

The Test Engineering Software Development Lead will be based in Milpitas, CA. The Development Lead’s primary responsibility is to review development tasks against requirements and milestones, coordinate resources, and resolve issues to assure goals are met. Additionally this role will be working closely with other globally based teams to ensure that our test processes and solutions are consistent across Flex production sites.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do…

  • Work with customers to understand their specific requirements for testing server & storage products and assist in definition of requirements.

  • Support presales activities for concept reviews and quotes

  • Review product test plans and overall test solutions against requirements

  • Host team meetings to review progress and drive technical implementation of test tasks

  • Managing and prioritizing tasks in JIRA based on ECO/Engineering inputs and overall program goals

  • Creating and managing software releases using GIT/Bitbucket and distributing release documentation

  • Coordinate software validation within development and operations environments prior to production use

  • Balance workload to meet development goals and provide sustaining test maintenance support for production

  • Advance technical capabilities using automation tools and by implementing best practices across the team

Here is some of what you’ll need (required)…

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent: Software or computer engineering

  • 5+ years of related experience in leading software engineers

  • 5+ Years developing system test solutions for server, storage, networking products.

  • Solid customer interfacing skills.

  • Strong software engineering and technical leadership experience

  • Excellent written communications

  • Background in manufacturing of computers, storage, or networking a requirement

  • Significant Linux experience (CentOS preferred)

  • Working knowledge of common hardware diagnostic and support tools (e.g. ipmitools, BMC Configuration, PXE, S.M.A.R.T, SOL)

  • Knowledge of test diagnostics such as Iperf, StressAppTest, Mprime, Iozone, FIO, Memtest,

  • Experience with server/network hardware (e.g. virtual machines, network architecture, and administration).

  • Experience in Unix shell scripting/Perl/Python a requirement
