Job Summary

The purpose of this position is to provide leadership, mentoring, program management and expert technical assistance within Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope to improve their respective health and safety performance and compliance systems.  Position works principally with facility-based operations, health and safety representatives to deliver an employee safety culture of zero harm to cost-effectively reduce operational risks and protect fixed assets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical direction to Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope facilities in support of their efforts to implement effective health, safety, environmental, and loss prevention programs.

  • Support regulatory compliance efforts through inspections, audits and standards implementation.

  • Provide company-wide program leadership, and implementation assistance on selected safety, health, environmental, and loss prevention topics.

  • Analyze, plan, review and act on events occurring within the assigned area of responsibility to assure improvement plans are being implemented and safety and health targets are being achieved.

  • Mentor facility-based safety coordinators and general managers in overall safety management at their facilities.

Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in technical field (safety first preference) required.  Master’s degree in relevant area of study preferred.

  • Six plus years of overall experience in the health and safety field in a manufacturing environment.

  • Previous corporate experience preferred.

  • Recognized professional certification preferred (CSP, CIH).

  • Proven leadership ability.

  • Able to work independently.

  • Able to travel up to 50% of the time.
