We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Senior Support Engineer with an extensive hands-on application support development background who truly enjoys supporting, maintaining and developing elegant solutions for our new featured service named Simulcast. Reporting to the Manager of the Production Support Department, this support engineer will be responsible for supporting multiple applications utilized by OPENLANE’s sellers, buyers and partners across North America. This includes reviewing and prioritizing requests; troubleshooting issues within the code and database and identifying the root cause of the issue; analyze the risks and relationships between functional groups of the systems. Communication with Business Owners, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Quality Assurance Engineers, and System Administrators is often required.
Why this role?
You will be on a tier 2 support team analyzing and troubleshooting the issues reported by Enterprise Operation Center and internal customers.
You will maintain, repair, and coordinate patching and improve real-time applications that are efficient, highly available, reliable, scalable, maintainable, extensible, and testable.
You will lead communication with business analysts and product managers to clarify requirements; work with a distributed team consisting of Quality Assurance, Analysts, Operations, and IT.
You will highlight any potential risks to the Management and seek inputs from Senior Development to resolve issues identified.
You will be working in a stable business environment with strong organizational and management support.
You will be supported by a 24/7/365 Network Operations Center (NOC) and highly-skilled operations team.
Some of the tech being used thus far includes Linux, Java, and Oracle.

3+ years Basic TCP/IP networking experience

Basic route/switch networking knowledge
Solid understanding of software development fundamentals, data structures, design patterns and web system architecture.
Familiar with Windows Server and Linux OS
Solid understanding and performance tuning experience working with relational DBs like Oracle, Sql Server.
Experience in development of large-scale SaaS and cloud-based applications.
Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery.
Support continuous improvements initiatives and actively identify bottlenecks and ways to improve engineering. practices and development process.
Promoter of writing well-designed, reusable, testable and efficient code.
Other Skills & Experience that will help you:
7+ years of software development experience preferably using agile methodologies.
Experience with iterative software development life-cycle methodologies and frameworks such as Agile, SCRUM, etc.
Possess skills in leadership to facilitate client relations, negotiation, decision making, problem solving and conflict management.
Have demonstrated communication skills to interact with all levels within the organization and its affiliates; this includes communicating on different technical expertise levels where appropriate.
Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence a plus
Bachelor’s Degree required in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or above.
