Job Description:

The Lean Continuous Improvement Site GPS Coach role is designed to develop additional GPS expertise to the Rockville site to foster a continuous improvement environment using the GPS basics.

This role will work closely with the GPS team to identify and drive high-impact improvement efforts as part of the GSK production system.  

  • Ensure all activities are executed following safety, quality and regulatory standards.  Promote a quality mindset and quality excellence approach to all activities.  

  • This role will engage teams in learning basic GPS methods and tools, mentor teams in applying the GPS basics to their own processes and deliver improvement results through effective planning and coordination; fostering the constant search for better ways of working at Rockville.  

  • As a member of the GPS team, be a contributor co-responsible for the site and the department results. Ensure personal objectives are aligned with site goals and objectives.

  • Support the other GPS Department members in devising strategy for improvement opportunities, and lead the identification of improvement projects working with other experts and other site members.  

  • Coordinate the implementation of business process improvements at the site in support of business targets to deliver results on-time, on-budget and on-quality.

  • Apply GPS tools, techniques, knowledge and skills to generate opportunities that deliver business benefit – both financial and non-financial.

  • Transfer of GPS tools, techniques, knowledge and skills to site employees.

  • Develop and implement measures to monitor improvements in operational performance.

  • Identify and resolve performance improvement project issues and risk that impact progress

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • University Degree (BSc) or equivalent

  • Minimum one year related manufacturing experience

  • Demonstrated delivery of improvement initiatives and/or culture change year on year resulting in both financial and non financial benefit, and behavioural change

    Preferred Qualifications:

    If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Good level of understanding of Lean / Sigma (Master Black Belt / Black Belt / Green belt- possible)

  • Problem solving in the context of site goals

  • People change management concepts and practice

  • Training skills

  • Coaching skills
