The Statutory Finance Unit, a part of the Corporate Controllers Department, is responsible for the coordination and production of the Regulatory (Statutory) financial statements in accordance with statutory accounting principles for Prudential's domestic insurance companies. The group has responsibility for coordinating financial results from the business units, analyzing financial results for presentations with senior management, as well as preparing various regulatory filings for the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) as well as various state insurance departments.
Assist in the coordination and preparation of Annual and Quarterly Statutory Financial Statement Notes and General Interrogatories
Filing annual/quarterly statements and compliance packages with all 50 states' insurance departments and various regulatory and government agencies.
Maintain company compliance through timely and accurate filing of all regulatory requests and by updating the Statutory Compliance database to ensure that all filings are completed.
Assist with Guaranty Fund Association and Comprehensive Health Assessment reporting and compliance by processing payments and completion of surveys.
Responsible for the preparation, analysis and submission of adhoc requests, reports and surveys, including filings with various rating agencies and insurance trade and lobbying associations.
This position requires some overtime during peak periods (mainly January and February).
Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or business-related fields
0-2 years of accounting/financial analysis experience
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong Excel skills
Ability to foster and build relationships across multiple departments
Good analytical skills
Self-motivated and proactive, with attention to detail and good quality control practices
Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment while meeting firm deadlines
Oracle Financial Systems/Ledger experience preferred but not required
