The salary range for this position is $21.11- $30.63 per hour with a hiring range of $21.11 - $25.87, depending on qualifications and experience. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Works as contributing member of City’s Public Information team to disseminate important and timely information to residents of Loveland
Disseminates word-and-picture content through electronic media platforms, including the City’s social media channels and official website;
Collaborates with City departments to conceptualize, produce, edit and package video content for promotion, marketing, recruitment and other purposes;
Produces, edits and documents news and events using digital and multimedia tools including video, still photography and social media platforms such as Facebook Live;
Writes content to support visual communication such as interview questions and storyboards;
Works with department-level public information contributors to create, categorize and maintain a City image library on a publicly accessible platform;
Enlivens the City’s social media channels with compelling video content, updated on a frequent basis;
Provides video support for official meetings and public announcements, especially in support of the City’s public access television outlet, Channel 16;
Oversees broadcast, recording and posting of official public meetings, ensuring that live broadcast on Channel 16 and archiving for public access is complete and correct.
Performs other public information, communication and engagement functions as needed under the direction of the Public Information Officer.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
Engages in continuous outreach to City department and division managers to assess needs for multimedia/visual media support.
Meets weekly with Public Information Officer, PIO Desktop Publishing Specialist and, if appropriate, Deputy City Manager to discuss strategies for community messaging.
Will manage the activities of a part-time City employee engaged in video broadcast and archiving work related to public meeting coverage on Channel 16.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Expertise in the use of modern digital video and still camera systems.
Expertise in using editing software to produce and package finished video and photo content.
Strong familiarity with social media platforms such as Facebook (including Facebook Live), YouTube, Twitter, Instagram and others.
Expertise in use of lighting and sound equipment in support of visual communication.
Ability to write with clarity in journalistic style in support of visual images.

Bachelor’s degree in mass media, communication, journalism, film/television, or closely related field, preferred.
Two years of experience in multi-media communication positions with emphasis on video production, required.

Working environment/physical activities:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to travel within the City of Loveland and adjacent areas and carry equipment needed to perform essential job functions. Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in inclement weather conditions. Work may involve sitting, standing, knealing, stooping, reaching walking. Work requires manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination. Work frequently involves lifting up to 40 lbs.
