Role Overview

Reporting to the Finance Business Partner, the Financial Analyst for procurement is responsible for providing all financial support to the Procurement organization.  The focus will be on supporting the Memphis and Global Business Services Procurement teams.  The Financial Analyst will directly work with Project Managers, Directors, Buyers, and other functional areas to validate product cost, sourcing analysis, evaluate capital requirements, and manage operating costs.  The role will provide analytical and business decision support for developing the annual budget, forecasting, and understanding of actual results and variances to plan.

Responsibilities


  • Partner with Procurement teams within Ortho/Endo/Wound and Global Business Services in supporting Global Procurement initiatives. 

  • Work with local Finance team(s) and Procurement to set standards on purchased materials/products on an annual basis.

  • Annual Budget / Quarterly Forecast – develop robust forecast process.

  • Cost center support including period-end closing, journal entries, and monthly reporting.

  • Prepare financial analysis for Capital Expenditure Requests and track CapEx for timely capitalization of assets and forecasting spending.

  • Evaluate & validate savings on key Procurement initiatives. 

  • Prepare weekly/monthly reports on Purchase Price Variances and conduct research for follow-up action.  Develop metrics for tracking to ensure robust global reporting.

  • Assist with global consolidations – monthly and weekly reporting for Ortho, Sports Medicine, and Wound.

  • Attend and lead various meetings as applicable.

  • Streamline processes as required.  Database experience a plus.

  • Identify opportunities, risks and performance outliers.

  • Share data driven insights (quantitative and qualitative) that help Finance Business

    Partners deliver targeted decision support.

Education

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

Licenses/Certifications

CPA/CMA preferred

Experience


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing/cost environment preferred.

  • SAP Experience (preferred)

  • Database experience a plus

  • Advanced Excel skills
