Position Overview

Perform tasks involving physical labor on-site. Will operate vacuum sweeper equipment and other pieces of equipment as needed. Will clean and prepare sites, including Quarry, Ready Mix and Asphalt locations, will clean up rubble, debris, dirt and other waste materials around sites.  Will be tasked on various projects that may include but not limited to; parts running, cleaning and vehicle transportation, etc

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Learn and follow safety regulations.

  • Clean or prepare sites to eliminate possible hazards.

  • Adjust hand wheels and depress pedals to control attachments, such as blades, buckets, scrapers, or brooms.

  • Start engines, move throttles, switches, or levers, or depress pedals to operate machines, such as bulldozers, trench excavators, road graders, or backhoes.

  • Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving loads and machinery within a busy environment

  • Drive and maneuver equipment in a safe manner

  • Load and move dirt, rocks, debris or other materials using a variety of equipment i.e. sweeper, shovels or related equipment.

  • Check fuel and other general maintenance on equipment

  • Maintain and clean tools, equipment, or materials to ensure items are in usable condition.

  • Engage in good work procedures and work standards that will ensure adequate performance and personnel safety

  • Perform preventive maintenance and assist in repairs as needed

  • Complete work to ensure conformance to specifications, standards, and requirements

  • Listen to supervisory personnel and other professionals to discuss and resolve matters, such as work procedures, complaints, or problems

  • Participate in company safety rules, safety meetings and in tool box talks

Other Requirements

  • Ensure compliance with company policies or procedure

  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public.

  • Requires daytime and some weekend hours. Travel will be required inside the company’s operational area


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.


  • Minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

Work Requirements

  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as per company policy.

  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

  • Must maintain current driver’s license that meets state requirements.

  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.

  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.

  • Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA. Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position is: Face Shield, Safety (hard toe) Shoes, and Safety Vest.

  • Compliance with all OSHA and/or MSHA regulations.

  • Adhere to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations as set forth by the US DOT.

Physical Requirements

Walking several miles per day, occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and traveling over irregular terrain. Some tasks involve: prolonged periods of standing and/or exposure to noise or weather, good motor coordination, finger dexterity, and color discrimination. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must occasionally lift and/ or move anywhere up to 50 lbs. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
