The LTC (Long Term Care)/EDBS (Enterprise Discontinued Business Solutions) Actuarial Department mission is to be trusted advisors and partners within the actuarial, business and corporate communities who collaborate to overcome shared challenges. This position will be located in Newark, New Jersey and reports to the EDBS Manager.
The primary responsibility of the EDBS Actuarial team is to support various Actuarial functions for multiple closed block product lines. This position will contribute to support valuation, financial reporting, forecasting for multi-year planning, assumptions setting, compliance and re-rating for individual health products. The position will also include support for reinsurance arrangements covering LTC, Disability, and P&C business and will have exposure to multiple business partners.
•Bachelor’s Degree required preferably in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or other highly quantitative field
•At least 2 Actuarial requirements (Exams, VEE, etc.)
•Ability to understand complex quantitative concepts and models
•Excellent written and oral communication skills
•Experience in MS Excel, MS Access, MS Word, and VBA or other OOP
•High level of motivation, independent working and drive for results
•Detail oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•Self-motivated and driving for results; Must be a team player.
•Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and work in a deadline-oriented environment
