Looking for an engineer with electrical background to join our team in Cranston RI.


In this role you would be responsible for adding electronic elements to mechanical systems.  


The ideal candidate would have a strong grasp and experience with electrical engineering including sensors as well as basic circuit board design and programming. Also would have some exposure to mechanical engineering elements.  Must be able to put product documentation together for production of components with vendors, as well as work with approval bodies to certify new products.  


What you will do


The ideal candidate will apply a wide range of engineering, business, and management principles and practices to:
Design, develop, validate and implement new products through the utilization of engineering principles.
Lead problem solving, technical discussions and design reviews with customers and other technical and business functions in the company to assist in bringing new solutions to market.
Prepare and direct others in the preparation of design layouts, detailed drawings, and technical reports.
Direct and coordinate prototype efforts.


What you will need


Bachelor?s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection or related Engineering discipline with a minimum of 5 years of experience required.
Demonstrated ability to manage and execute projects from planning through delivery.
Strong drive to try out new ideas and build prototypes that demonstrate feasibility.
Experience leading and participating in cross functional teams.


Preferred experience with


Past experience in the Fire Protection industry.
Experience working with both Electrical and Mechanical disciplines
Understanding of PLCs and PLC programming
Candidate must be able to read/write interrupt technical literature.  Must be able to write draft level technical literature / instruction manuals for finished products.
Computer Programming:  Be familiar with PLC programming and C++
Hardware and Testing: Familiar with all standard electronic lab equipment including Multi-meter, Oscilloscope
Fabrication and Prototyping: Circuit design, circuit fabrication, PCB layout, PCB, 3D printers, hand tools, soldering.
