Are you interested in developing augmented reality applications to support defense applications? ARA’s ARC4 technology sets the standard for military augmented reality and has been featured in such publications as The Atlantic and Ars Technica. Our systems combine a wide range of sensing modalities and use cutting-edge patented sensor fusion algorithms to operate on resource-constrained embedded wearable platforms. ARA is excited to offer a summer internship to a qualifying candidate who will support software development of the ARC4 software application and related hardware and system platforms.

Applied Research Associates (ARA) is actively seeking qualified software engineering intern to perform advanced development for augmented reality technology used in defense applications. ARA’s ARC4 technology sets the standard for military augmented reality and has been featured in such publications as The Atlantic and Ars Technica. Our systems combine a wide range of sensing modalities and use cutting-edge patented sensor fusion algorithms to operate on resource-constrained embedded wearable platforms.

Job Requirements:



    • Actively enrolled in a degree program in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.

    • Excellent communication skills

    • Due to the nature of the work, qualified candidates must be U.S. Citizens.

Job Preferences:



    • Experience with embedded software

    • GPA of 3.5 or higher

    • Permanent or temporary residence in the Raleigh, NC metro area as this opportunity does not include relocation or housing assistance
