Job Description:

The Chemist Technician primary role is to execute specified support activities for the Analytical Development Chemistry laboratory. In addition, the Chemist Technician will be responsible for inventory of materials and tracking maintenance and calibration of all laboratory equipment.  The following characteristics are essential in order to be a contributing team member in the Analytical Development chemistry laboratory: ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, open to working flexible hours, shifting priorities based on laboratory needs, document data according to cGMPs, and dependability.

Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for the general maintenance of the chemistry laboratory including good housekeeping (and a safe working environment.  Duties include but not limited to:

  • Dishes, Pipets (Cleaning, maintain)

  • Inventory (Lab Supplies, Chemicals, Reagents, standards, Columns etc.)

  • House Keeping, cleaning and organizing

  • Waste removal

  • Replace Desiccants  

  • Administrative-time studies

  • Responsible for inventory of materials and maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.

  • Notify Laboratory Manager of laboratory problems.


  • Responsible for practicing all applicable cGMPs.

  • Responsible for ensuring new logbooks are acquired.

  • Responsible for coordinating documents ready for off-site storage to include documents located in the file cabinets.

  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures, safety, health, and cGMP Guidelines.

 Qualifications:


  • Associates Degree or pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Chemistry or related scientific field

  • 0 - 2 years experience in pharmaceutical laboratory environment.

  • Proficient with current word processing, spreadsheets, and database software.

  • Ability to participate in and contribute to a team-oriented work environment by developing positive working relationships within and between other departments.
