Job Description:

This position manages Residence Life and Housing Assignments. This position acts as liaison to the Vice President of Operations, acts as liaison to other university departments, oversees strategic planning, initiatives and fundraising, and serves on the campus Behavior Intervention Team (BIT). This position identifies
and implements long- and short- term planning goals and strategies,
including avenues to increase revenue and occupancy and implementation
of current and emerging technology; assesses goals and student
satisfaction; acts as
liaison to campus departments to ensure customer needs and university policies and goals
are met; works
with staff and meets with students and parents to resolve customer
concerns; handles emergency and crisis scenarios as they relate to
housing and housing residents; administers
budgets; develops, recommends, implements, interprets, and monitors
policies and procedures; interprets and manages site license policies,
leasing agreements, and service provider contracts, including agreements
with summer camps and other non-university entities using facilities. This position supervises
professional staff including recruiting, selecting, training,
supervising, evaluating, and firing; supervises strategic workflow
within units; and identifies and implements appropriate training
opportunities for staff.

Required Education: Bachelor Degree or equivalent combination of education/job related experience, AND:

  • 48-60 months experience in residence life experience


  • Ability to speak, read and write clear, concise English

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information

  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines

  • Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff

  • Able to produce reports and complete work within deadlines

  • Strong initiative to solve problems

  • Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives

  • Customer service

  • Must be able to create and deliver effective presentations

  • Must be able to read and interpret policy as well as State and Federal regulations

  • Able to effectively evaluate projects/programs and produce comprehensive reports

  • Must be able to supervise staff and communicate directions and expectations effectively

Departmental Preferences:

  • Master's degree in Adult and Higher Education or similar area of study
