Advance Support Engineer Job Summary: We are looking for talented, highly motivated, and technically excellent people to join our Level 3 Engineer team to support our Artificial Intelligence powered applications.  We adopt a unique approach by embedding artificial intelligence into hospital workflows to effectively engage physicians and nurses.  If you are an independent self-starter who enjoys investigating how applications work from top to bottom and learning new technologies in the process, we want to talk to you!

Our office is in the heart of Squirrel Hill in Pittsburgh and provides the unique feel of working in a community rather than a downtown area or office park.

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career.

Advance Support Engineer Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Work with customers over the phone, email, or screen sharing tools to troubleshoot potential issues in real-time.

  • Install applications using tools such as Ansible. 

  • Review application logs either gathered from the user and/or using Kibana.

  • Create simple to intermediate queries in Kibana to troubleshoot on going client issues.

  • Use browser dev tools and search for errors in modern browsers, Firefox / Google Chrome / Internet Explorer / Microsoft Edge.

  • Create tickets using the Atlassian suite of tools.

  • Create / Update / Maintain troubleshooting documentation with respect to repeat issues.

  • Ability to communicate effectively between application teams and upper levels of support.

  • Ability to be mentally nimble and draw conclusions based on knowledge of multiple applications.

  • Ability to walk us through your troubleshooting process.

  • Need to be able to pick up new technologies and processes quickly.

  • Light travel in very rare instances may be necessary.

  • Actively participates in relevant corporate programs/initiatives, complies with professional and quality standards complies with corporate policies and procedures, and acts in a manner consistent with 3M’s values and ethical standards.

Advance Support Engineer Basic Qualifications:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited university OR High School Diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution and a minimum of six (6) years of experience in software development in lieu of the bachelor’s degree education requirement

  • Minimum of one (1) combined year of experience in a Support and/or Server Administration field

Advance Support Engineer Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous Linux command line experience, starting / restarting / stopping services, checking logs, and editing config files.

  • Previous experience with Docker would be helpful.

  • Previous experience with Ansible would be a bonus.

  • Previous database experience, PostgreSQL / MySQL / Cassandra, would also be a bonus.

  • Previous experience with Nagios Core monitoring tools would be a bonus
