EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Master's degree in science, social science, business, or health-related (including nursing) field and four (4) years related experience to include management experience.

Manuscript publications, grant writing and grant awards experience preferred. PhD preferred.

JOB DUTIES

*

Manages research studies, staff, nursing students, fellows, onboarding, projects, staffing and schedules.
*

Participates in the selection process of clinical research unit staff, provides training to research, financial and administrative staff, evaluates staff, and maintain quality performance and results. * Participates in training measures.

*

Establishes and maintains an effective system of controls which provides reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets are safeguarded and financial information reliable.
*

Manages and ensures IRB submissions, study protocols, revisions, modifications, closures, and any outstanding IRB requests related to research studies and grant applications including tracking, reporting, and input into policies involving research.
*

Ensures data collection, collation and coordination of data including statistical analysis of research studies including reporting protocol and adverse event deviations to the IRB and regulatory bodies.
*

Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures, particularly as it relates to the institutional review board.
*

Provides education and mentoring related to research and evidence-based practices.
*

Designs and presents individual classes/courses or CNE educational events for health-care providers related to research or EBP based on needs of entities and system
*

Collaborates with internal & external nurse scientists to design and standardize strategies for EBP and research.
*

Mentors individual nurses who are pursuing scholarly activities and projects aimed at improving outcomes related to UT Southwestern.

OTHER DUTIES

*

Executes activities to stimulate and promote a culture of inquiry and scholarship in the quest for excellence.
*

Facilitates research translation/integration into clinical practice by communicating and interpreting research findings and engaging appropriate councils and leadership.
*

Engages bedside nurses, leadership, and other disciplines in ensuring that practice is based on current research and evidence.
*

Supports the chair and/or chairs of entity Nursing Research EBP Councils.
*

Facilitates Nursing Research working with the planning committee for Research Day and other research related events.
*

Disseminates research findings to the scientific community through journals and professional conferences including independent scholarly research and writing, revising and tracking manuscript submissions.
*

Facilitates other nurse authors efforts to disseminate evidence based practice and research findings through manuscript, poster, and podium presentations.
*

Serves on various University Hospital and other applicable committees, task forces or work groups, as appropriate. Participates in campus-wide research collaboration meetings and activities.
