Job Description:

We are looking for a Production Coordinator who will provide technical support for the production function.Theincumbent will act as relief supervisor and manage projects of appropriate nature.

Specific responsibilitiesinclude, but are not limited to:

  • Support Operations Manager with downtime/slowtime/OEE reporting and improvement actions.
  • Work with maintenance department to implement, monitor and sustain TPM activities in production and assist in prioritizing work orders to ensure top safety, quality and productivity items are addressed.
  • Partner with Human Resources to coordinate orientation, training and certification of new or transferred employees. Ensure that training programs stay current with equipment and process changes.Maintain an ongoing operator training process that ensured all operators are skilled in the function to which they are assigned.
  • Utilize production schedules to develop and maintain hourly production workforce schedules in time keeping system.
  • Serve as an internal consultant to supervisors and operators, offering technical expertise and guidance as needed.Represent production issues and expertise in assisting maintenance, engineering, and technical personnel.
  • Conduct Safety training in selected areas. Maintain accurate, timely and up to date records for assigned safety programs and audit plant safety programs to ensure same.
  • Contribute to the production department's goal-setting, strategy-development, decision-making and planning.

  • Ensure safe, efficient utilization of equipment and facilities. Stimulate maximum safety, quality, efficiency and productivity of employees. Provide a safe work place through adherence to company safety, policy, and housekeeping and defined standards of training.
  • Foster continuous improvement through sound management practices including: communication of goals, training of operators, recommend and implement changes in methods and machinery, identify and resolve process variation.
  • Implement and develop process standards in conjunction with quality evaluation and engineering.
  • Follow up on all incident investigations to make certain corrective actions are completed, in addition to assisting with incident and accident reporting.
  • Prepare and monitor process check lists and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Oversee Center Lining program and direct team leaders.

  • Work with Manufacturing Engineer to implement, monitor and sustain:
    - Idea tracking program - KPI communication to production team - 5S efforts in production areas - Time studies to reduce and enhance change over activities and eliminate non-value added tasks. - Training, encouragement and follow up on Operator Machine ownership culture in the operations department.

    Requirements:
  • A High School diploma or GED coupled with 2 to 5 years of demonstratedproduction coordinator experience or a technical support role in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated project planning and implementation experience; intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and a CMMS. Demonstrated experience with Maximo a plus.
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in technical or management field of study, coupled withtwoyears as a production coordinator in a shinglemanufacturing plant is preferred.Demonstrated experience with Maximo. Six Sigma Green Belt a plus.
