It will be the responsibility of the Senior Analytic Systems Engineer to support plants in all business units in the effective use of BrainCube, BrainCube Live and other analytical software systems. This includes training plant personnel on how and when to use the various features of the software including any new features added that may or may not have been included in the original implementation.
The Senior Analytic Systems Engineer will also share case studies and tips/techniques with all manufacturing sites and support organizations.
This position will also include some basic troubleshooting and issue management either directly with the software vendor or using other resources.
This position will include roughly 50% travel. Candidates should be located near a major or regional airport or plant location if possible.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
A BS in Chemical / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering coupled with 7+ years of data analysis and statistical experience in an industrial environment.
40% - Support of analytical software (BrainCube, others) at all GAF locations. This includes maintenance of the BrainCube Operations Manual and any SOPs that support the implementation and use of various analytical software tools as well as training as needed for the plant personnel.
30% - Continuously review plants' system for continued optimization over time including demonstration of advanced features to identify and resolve process issues. Included are regularly scheduled meetings with the plants to share updates, review any applicable metrics, and review system status.
10% - Work with vendor and plant to troubleshoot all system issues. Apply all areas of technical expertise to obtain a workable solution.
10% - Recommend project upgrades or enhancements to the plants and Analytic Systems Manager.
10% - Track the help tickets for all relevant project issues and notify stakeholders of changes.
Advanced knowledge of manufacturing analysis tools, such as statistical analysis/statistical process control (SPC), process capability studies, lean manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, Kepner-Tregoe, BrainCube/ BrainCube Live, MES, MiniTab or other SPC software, and/or Design of Experiments (DOE)
Advanced knowledge of standard Manufacturing concepts, practices, & procedures
Demonstrated project management skills
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings
Advanced proficiency using root cause analysis to troubleshoot and solve both system and process problems
Advanced ability to translate technical data into a format/language suitable for all personnel
